Our inspiration:
Sitting in a pleasant café at our favourite port we were amazed by the beauty of the picture in front of us. It was so perfectly complete. The slewing masts, the pleasant waft, the blue waves and our good old fellows around provided an experience that each of us wished to relive as often as possible. The idea, that what we wear reflects this atmosphere quite well, was a surprising, but true recognition. We suddenly started to jot down some sketches. Everyone had some colours, some cuttings and fine fabrics in mind, and the mood of the harbour was a muse guiding our pencil. Each of us added some tiny detail, even the people sitting around or doing their job on the decks.

The realisation took some further years, but now we all know that this one afternoon was the real start-up, although the initial goal was anything but creating a new fashion brand. And all of us are really pleased with the outcome. Even on our normal days, when we have no chance to make sail we have this unique feeling around while wearing yarn&button™. An outfit that my neighbour in the yacht club immediately noticed and his was the first ‘order’, which I really appreciated. At this point I was glad to see that we created perfectly what we originally wanted to. Nothing technical but something completely reflecting our emotions to the endless waters. By the way, the ‘godfather’ had nothing to do with sailing. But yarn&button™ is just ideal as it is.

Our concept:
